Gauhati University Approves Offline MCQ Format for Conducting PG Admission Entrance 2021-2022

 The Gauhati University made it clear that the admission procedure would be strictly based on evaluations that would include the overall performance .

 In a development regarding the procedure of examinations to be held by the Gauhati University, it has been decided that the Post Graduate Admission process regarding all departments of the University would be conducted strictly on the MCQ basis that would follow an offline parameter for the entrance examination for the session 2021-2022.

 Gauhati University had earlier organized a meeting on July 15 last, wherein the decision was taken by the regulatory authorities to introduce the offline format for the entrance examination as a mitigating solution in order to deal with the UGC guidelines for completing the entire admission process for PG students that has to be concluded by earliest September, 2021.

 It may be mentioned that, the criterion would consist of a Common Entrance Test for admission into the different disciplines of courses under the Deemed University for the upcoming session of 2021-2022. The Gauhati University made it clear that the admission procedure would be strictly based on evaluations that would include the overall performance and would keep into effect the eligibility criteria that the aspirants would need to fulfill in order to be able to clear the Entrance test.


 As per the notification issued by the Gauhati University, Admission into Traditional Pogram of Study, 80% of total intake will be reserved for Gauhati University graduates. The remaining 20% will be reserved for Other University Students only.


earlier on July 25, The GU stated that some colleges & institutes are admitting students under different universities with permission to run courses in subjects that are also run by the Gauhati University. The university ordered that no student should be admitted under such courses from the coming academic session. It asked the colleges & institutes to apply to the GU for consideration of affiliation as per rules.
